About Robust Nutrition

Registered Dietitian | Weight-Inclusive Care Advocate

Hi, I’m Ruth and my passion lies in helping folks untangle nutrition from shame: because no one thrives under the weight of perfectionism, weight stigma, or systemic barriers.

I’ve experienced firsthand how healthcare often fails those who don’t fit its narrow ideals. I’ve been dismissed for my weight, struggled to access compassionate care, and watched clients face the same cruelties. That’s why my practice rejects diet culture’s lies and focuses on what actually supports well-being:  individualized habits and building self-trust around food.

My Background

In my career, I’ve gained experience at the intersection of nutrition and systemic health barriers—including:

  • Creating and leading an outpatient dietetics program at a federally qualified health center (FQHC), where I’ve witnessed how income, trauma, and systemic inequities shape health.

  • Supporting families at WIC, helping them navigate real-world barriers to feeding their kids.

  • Earning my Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Vermont and becoming a Certified Diabetes Educator.

My approach is also rooted in cultural humility. With a military family upbringing, time living abroad, and Puerto Rican heritage, I understand how food connects to identity—and how "healthy eating" advice often erases cultural foods. Your traditions belong at the table!

You deserve care that honors your whole self—

body, mind, and story.
